Dr. Pavneet Kaur Kingra obtained M.Sc Agricultural Meteorology in 1996 and Ph.D Agricultural Meteorology in 2009 from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Ludhiana. She has been on the faculty of Agricultural Meteorology (Department of Climate Change and Agril. Meteorology, PAU) since 1999 and teaching various undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Agricultural Meteorology. She has guided 10 M.Sc. and 3 Ph.D. students as Major Advisor.
She has expertise in the field of Climate Change and its impacts on crop evapotranspiration and water productivity, Crop weather relations, Micrometeorology and Remote Sensing applications in Agriculture and Climate Change. She has authored more than 125 research papers, 5 books, 5 book chapters and seven practical manuals for various courses of Agricultural Meteorology along with many research reports, bulletins, booklets, pamphlets and popular articles. She has presented papers in several national/international symposia, seminars and conferences and attended several workshops.
She is life member of many professional societies such as Indian Society of Remote Sensing, Indian Meteorological Society, Association of Agrometeorologists, Indian Society of Agronomy, Indian Science Congress Association, Indian Society of Geoinformatics, Indian Society of Agricultural Physics, Indian Ecological Society, Punjab Academy of Sciences etc. She has handled different research projects funded by Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi and Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Govt. of India.
